I have a Pixel C. It's been collecting dust since shortly after I bought it. It's a gorgeous piece of hardware, but the lack of app support is endlessly frustrating. I'm currently charging it to see if Oreo has changed things at all.

And you still can't charge and plug into the USB port, for a mouse, at the same time!

Doesn't the Nintendo Switch also use the Tegra X1?
I'm guessing the Switch's is overclocked because of the internal fan, while the Pixel C's is underclocked because of the seemingly fanless design.

Actual price £404 (between iPad 32GB and iPad 128GB) is not so bad. Pixel C is nearly 2 years old tablet but the progress of tablets for content consuming is very slow, iPad 2017 uses 2 years old SoC. It will get at least Android O (+1 year of security patches), it's something that will not get any other Android tablet, probably except of Samsung Galaxy Tab S3.

I bought one in April 2016, the backlight failed in April 2017, still under warranty. I am still jumping through hoops to get a replacement, I have spent approximately ten hours emailing Google and persisting with this, I'm still not through the wood yet, and very annoyed and frustrated. I have to say, even though, when working, this is a great tablet, I would not deal with Google again, very stressful.

If the pixel c wasn't so expensive I would have gotten one. It's the only android tablet I would consider because google will keep it updated unlike other android tablets. I am sticking to my iPad Air 2 for the foreseeable future, this is coming from someone who prefers android over iOS.

Pixel and nexus devices hate to sell for lower price. At least Google need to loosen up on Pixels devices cause they want us to pay full price for such old device. Apple sells for lower price in just a year.

I live in Mountain View, and was lucky enough to get my Pixel C right away. I've had it for a while now and, it's my only Android device. I use iPhone and MacBook Pro, but to be honest,. I use this device (of which I'm writing on right now) literally all the time. The Anker USB Cable Ethernet adapter which I also have has saved my bacon, when I'm on corporate networks. I've had some bizarre minor hardware issues (mostly related to Android). Although it was pricey especially considering the magnetic keyboard ( which really makes the device what is magical) I absolutely love it and have no regrets. To be honest iOS is too locked down, and booting up a laptop is so… formal? Chrome is OK, and I use it more than dedicated apps, for example Facebook is terrible. I've used it with a chomecast for presentations that were unplanned when I had no laptop, and I feel confident that I can leave the laptop behind. The number one absolutely awesome feature is that the hinge is self supporting so crazy orientations on plane, in bed, on the couch in a cafe means I can pick the thing up by the tablet and the keyboard just comes. To be honest the amount of time and things I do on this thing, make me wonder if I should go back to a Mac mini on my next laptop upgrade. Coding on this thing is awful which is the only reason I haven't ditched my laptop, but at minimum it has allowed me to delay what would normally have been upgrades on my other to more expansive Apple devices. Thanks the review it was good to see that I'm not the only one! Oh not to mention the wow factor, people are always amazed and are asking me about it!

I thought about this vs my Yoga Book (android) but can't justify it just because of USB-C and the loss of other key features like an SD Card slot. The other problem is Bluetooth keyboard key repeats make me die inside a little each time…

For what a pixel c costs, I'd rather just get a used surface pro 4 with the M3 chip off ebay and have a full blown PC for more productivity work.
