We we're genuinely curious how these would look side by side. Obviously these are 2 completely different beasts, but why not see how the images stacks up ๐Ÿ™‚

These outdoor daylight tests are very misleading, this is where a phone camera takes the best photos. Once you take the camera in the studio or at night, then you see what the value is in having a professional camera.

Great Test. And it all depends on the end use. If one is using the end product for the big screen and near perfection and has the budget in the project for post production that will go far beyond the time to film, the Canon is ย obvious. If one is shooting interviews, testimonials and product for Vimeo, YouTube and client website posting, the XPhone is going to get the job done faster with far less post time. The expectation for most viewers would be served by the XPhone. If the budget was from Coca-Cola, Budweiser and Mercedes-Benz, the best equipment and post production time would be expected. And paid for. For the local company, the XPhone will provide everything needed. And is close enough so a little color grading in FCPX or even iMovie would suffice. And be done to 99% satisfaction of consumers and most viewers. Audio makes a video as well. Good sound work with what is available for either plus add a great sound track under makes it perfect. This is why the XPhone will replace our Canon for many things. And save tremendous time in post.

iPhone X was oversaturated, a little bit too warm, looks over-sharpened, and flat looking image. The C200 leans more towards being cinematic, not "videoy" like the iPhone. Great conclusion though. The iPhone is good for those home/travel videos.

I stop everything at 3:01 and I can read the word McCRANK on the back of the skateboard from the iPhone X but the C200 same frame is out of focus and you can't make out the same word. Why? I noticed that throughout the whole video but anytime I stopped it it seem like the C200 was just a slight bit out of focus compare to the iPhone X even in the playground I could read the word "play" and the C200 was fussy at 1:39.
Any reasons why this could be so, comparing the iPhone X to an $8000 camera this should not be the case.

iPhone X truly looks like the typical home video. Mediocre at best. Sharpness and contrast it does not equal to high quality video. The iPhone X is oversaturated, the shadows are way too dark and it has a lot of overexposure. A SHAME for the cheap shitty camera on the iPhone.

I have to disagree. The quality with the conditions you were in the X did better At least watching it on YouTube looked better. If you got into low light the C would blow the X away. The X will get grainy in low light. It just doesn't have the range to cover all conditions like the C.
